Our History

Thirty years ago Choices Pregnancy Center opened its doors at 202 Dover Street in Easton, MD.  A small group of dedicated women staffed the ministry in a few rooms at the rear of an old mansion.  At that time, the building was not renovated.  Services provided included material support, pregnancy tests, referrals for community services, mentoring, education, and spiritual counseling.  Our main source of support came from the church community.

Eventually, we moved to the Brant Court location.  As our program grew and clients increased in number we also outgrew our space.  Weekly moving of furniture from the boutique to the classroom became our routine.  On Tuesday nights volunteers from the community conducted classes on a variety of subjects at our facility.  Clients were able to earn “Baby Bucks” for participating in these classes, as well as other community activities.  Shopping nights were always highly anticipated, when the “Baby Bucks” were able to be used by buy needed items for babies.

Due to a need to reorganize the program, Choices closed its doors for one year.  During that time much thought and prayer was put into the reorganization of our program.  It became clear that our focus was really on the “abortion-vulnerable” woman.  As a result, we had a Grand Opening of our new medical facility in January of 2012.  In accordance with our new medical licensing, we received a new state-of-the-art sonogram machine along with new furnishings for our professional building located on Teal Drive.  A doctor as well as several nurses joined our volunteer staff to round out our medical status.  

In May of 2020, we bought our building at 505 Dutchmans through the generous hearts of our partners. In 2022, we partnered with Eastern Shore Pregnancy Clinic on a mobile unit to serve women from Queen Anne’s County to the beaches of Ocean City. We are very proud of the newest evolution of our ministry which now exists as a state-of-the-art pregnancy center.   

It’s been a great journey, and we can’t wait to see what else God has in store for us!
